ABOUT

Hello! Thank you for checking out my website. My name is Samantha Roxas and I am a third-year at University of California, San Diego. I am a second-generation undergraduate and will be the first in my family to go to medical school. I am a cognitive and behavioral neuroscience major hoping to learn more about how our mental health can affect our relationships, and to understand the underlying behavior and neural networks of it all. I also really enjoy building relationships with others in the community through volunteering and personal connections. I have experience in both clinical and non-clinical volunteering roles; working for both school organizations and San Diego based companies.

On campus, I am a volunteer coordinator for Mustard Seed Project, Conference Coordinator for Pilipino Undergraduate Society for Health, and one of the Service Chairs for The Health and Medical Professions Preparation Program (HMP3).

Outside of school, I am a clinical volunteer for Palomar Health and UCSD's Asylum Seeker Clinic. I also volunteer at Taekwondo tournaments in SoCal, helping with judging and general support for our region.

With all these involvements I place importance on establishing genuine connection in a way that will foster positive engagement between myself and others. I aspire to be a Physician and continue my passion for building relationships and focusing on mental health.

I am also involved in collegiate Esports, particularly Overwatch 2. I was a previous Team Manager for UCSD Esports and enjoy making connections with others in the gaming industry. I love traveling to LANs and enjoy helping with marketing and general support for all teams. I also enjoy cooking and exploring new food places in SoCal.
